Terms of use and sale

Last updated 7 October 2026

These terms apply to the website swisscape.app and to purchases of the Switzerland Secret Map (the “Secret Map”). The service is operated by [Operator name not configured — set it before launch], [Postal address not configured — set it before launch] (“we”). By using the site or buying the Secret Map you accept these terms.

1. What the Secret Map is

The Secret Map is digital content: access, through this website, to our curated map and the detailed guidance for each place (such as exact locations where we share them, routes, timing and practical notes), plus the account features described on the product page. It is not a physical product and not a subscription.

2. Price and payment

  • The price is shown before purchase in Swiss francs (CHF) and is a one-time payment. Taxes are included where applicable.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Your access is activated as soon as the payment is confirmed. For payment methods that confirm later, access starts once the payment succeeds.

3. Access

  • Access is tied to the email address used at checkout. You can sign in on any device with a one-time link sent to that address.
  • Access is for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share links to individual place pages, but not your account or the paid content in bulk.
  • Updates to the Swiss places database are included for as long as we operate the service. Future products, such as guides to other countries, may be sold separately.
  • If we ever stop operating the service, we will give at least 60 days' notice and offer an export of your saved places.

4. Withdrawal and refunds

Because the Secret Map is digital content delivered immediately, you ask us to start providing it as soon as you pay. Under EU consumer law, the right of withdrawal ends once access begins with your consent; Swiss law provides no general right of withdrawal for online purchases. Independently of this, we offer a voluntary refund within 14 days — see the refund policy.

5. Travel information and your safety

  • We research and verify information carefully, but conditions change: weather, rockfall, closures, timetables, prices and access rules. Information reflects the state on the verification date shown on each place.
  • Outdoor activities carry risks. You are responsible for judging conditions, your abilities and equipment, checking official sources (weather, avalanche and closure notices, timetables) and following local rules and signs.
  • Scores describe our assessment at the time of scoring. We do not guarantee that a place will be quiet or open on a particular day.
  • Never enter private land, protected zones or closed areas, even if a place appears on the map.

6. Acceptable use

Don't scrape, copy or republish our content or data in bulk, attempt to bypass access controls, or use the service in a way that harms the places we describe or the people who live near them. We may suspend access that breaches these terms after notifying you, and will refund unused value where appropriate.

7. Intellectual property

Texts, scores, selections and design are ours or used with permission. Map data is © swisstopo and © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL); photographs belong to the credited photographers.

8. Liability

We are liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and as otherwise required by mandatory law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for slight negligence, for indirect or consequential damage, or for the content of third-party websites we link to. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law in your country of residence.

9. Changes

We may update these terms for future purchases. Changes that reduce what you already bought require your consent. The date at the top shows the latest version.

10. Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Courts at our registered office have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules that may let you bring proceedings where you live.
