Where our information comes from
Every fact on a place page can be traced to a source, and every source is listed on the page with the date we checked it.

Source hierarchy
When sources disagree, the higher one wins, and we note the conflict for the next on-site check.
- Field verification by our editors — what we saw on site, with the date.
- Official sources — municipalities, cantonal authorities, protected-area management, national and regional tourism offices.
- Transport operators — timetables and seasonal service from the Swiss public-transport network.
- Official geodata — swisstopo maps and the Confederation's open government data.
- OpenStreetMap — community-maintained map data, used for locations and paths and always cross-checked.
- Hiking resources — official route networks and hiking associations.
- Community discussions — useful leads, never the only source for a fact.
